Shanling’s Android Streaming Platform

The SM90 runs on Shanling’s in-house developed Android-based system, refined over years with user feedback into a stable and smooth platform. A 64-bit ARM Cortex CPU is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which keeps navigation responsive and streaming reliable. Because popular services — Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, Amazon Music and more — run natively on the touchscreen, the SM90 streams independently rather than depending on a phone to feed it music.

Wireless Streaming, Network Playback and Wi-Fi 6

Network playback is covered from every angle: TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and DLNA let phones, tablets and computers hand music over effortlessly, while Bluetooth 5.2 adds LDAC, AAC and SBC for wireless listening. The SM90 is also Roon Ready with certification ongoing, for listeners who want deeper network integration. On the network side, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4GHz / 5.8GHz) and a gigabit LAN port keep streaming stable and fast, even with high-resolution material.

Dual AKM AK4493S DACs with OPA1612 Analog Output

Conversion is handled by two AKM AK4493S DAC chips, a pairing Shanling tunes for a refined, natural and detailed character. The analog stage is built around OPA1612 op-amps, which helps deliver high dynamic range and low distortion for a smooth, musical presentation. Support extends to PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, and Shanling’s proprietary AGLO (Android Global Lossless Output) system keeps the signal bit-perfect by avoiding resampling.

Versatile Connectivity for Any Setup

As a multi-functional Hi-Fi source, the SM90 covers digital, analog and network duties. Digital inputs include USB DAC, coaxial, optical and HDMI ARC; digital outputs are available over USB audio, coaxial and optical; and analog output is offered on both RCA and XLR. That spread of connections lets the SM90 slot in with amplifiers, standalone DACs, CD players and complete home audio systems without extra boxes.

Local Library Storage and Clean Power

For locally stored music, the SM90 includes a built-in M.2 SSD slot, so a personal library can live inside the unit. External USB drives up to 2TB and NAS connections are supported as well, giving flexible and fast access to large collections. Powering it all is a high-quality 35W linear power supply with a toroidal transformer, providing clean, stable power that contributes to a more natural, analog-like presentation.
