The SMSL G1 is a dedicated external master clock generator designed to elevate the performance of high-end DACs, CD transports, and digital audio systems. Built around an ultra-precision OCXO (Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator) and SMSL's proprietary CK-03 clock processing circuit, the G1 delivers a 10 MHz reference signal with exceptionally low phase noise, transforming the timing accuracy — and consequently the soundstage depth, image focus, and high-frequency clarity — of any compatible digital component.

OCXO: The Gold Standard in Clock Stability

At the heart of the G1 is a laboratory-grade OCXO module. Unlike standard TCXO (Temperature-Compensated) clocks, an oven-controlled oscillator maintains its crystal at a constant elevated temperature inside a miniature oven, virtually eliminating frequency drift caused by ambient temperature fluctuations. The result is short-term and long-term frequency stability that no conventional clock can match — critical for preserving the precise timing relationships that define stereo imaging and transient accuracy.

CK-03 Clock Processing Circuit

SMSL's self-developed CK-03 circuit provides ultra-low-jitter clock distribution with multiple galvanically isolated output stages. Quad 10 MHz Outputs with Independent Isolation

The G1 features two 50-ohm BNC clock outputs, each galvanically isolated from one another. This allows you to simultaneously clock up to four separate devices — for example, a DAC and a CD transport — without cross-contamination. Both outputs deliver a clean 10 MHz sine wave with industry-standard 50-ohm impedance, making the G1 compatible with a wide range of high-end digital components from SMSL and other manufacturers.

The G1 is housed in a precision CNC-machined aluminum unibody that minimizes internal resonance while providing effective EMI shielding.
