A machined aluminum shell, three-step gain control, and flexible single-ended and balanced connections make the A50 III a complete, future-proof desktop solution.

NFCA Module – Reference-Grade Amplification

At the heart of the A50 III sits the advanced NFCA (Nested Feedback Composite Amplifier) module, the same proven architecture used in its predecessor. The nested feedback topology delivers outstanding DC and AC performance, keeping distortion vanishingly low while driving even low-impedance headphones with complete authority.

3500mW x 2 – Power for Every Headphone

The A50 III pushes 3500mW per channel into 32Ω, giving it plenty of current for planars and high-impedance dynamic headphones. Combined with ultra-low distortion, the output stays clean and composed at any volume, preserving the original recording.

Transparent, Measurably Clean

Total harmonic distortion plus noise measures below 0.00006% at 1kHz (A-weighted), with a signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range of 144dB. The result is a black-quiet background with fast, detailed transients and stable imaging across the whole frequency spectrum.

Three Gain Steps – Matches Any Source

A front-panel 3-step gain switch (H/M/L) adapts the A50 III to sources from sensitive IEMs to demanding over-ears: -12dB for low-gain listening, 0dB for standard operation, and 11.7dB when extra headroom is needed. Input sensitivity and noise floor are optimized at every step.

Flexible I/O – 6.35mm, 4.4mm, RCA and TRS

Connect via 6.35mm single-ended or 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs, fed by RCA single-ended or TRS balanced inputs. The versatile input/output matrix lets you swap between sources and headphones without changing cables or adapters.

12V Trigger – Synchronized Power

The 12V trigger input lets the A50 III power on and off in sync with your DAC and other gear – pair it with the TOPPING D50 III for a stack that wakes up and sleeps together.

Machined Aluminum Chassis
