Product Highlights
TOPPING DX5 II – Dual ES9039Q2M Fully Balanced Desktop DAC & Headphone Amplifier
The TOPPING DX5 II is a fully balanced DAC and headphone amplifier combo that refines a proven formula with upgraded internals, broader connectivity, and user-focused improvements. Twin ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chips power the decoding stage, while an all-new X-Hybrid amplifier circuit drives everything from ultra-sensitive IEMs to high-impedance headphones. With the Aurora UI, a 10-band high-precision PEQ, Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC, and up to 7600mW x 2 of output power, it delivers clean, detailed, high-resolution audio in a compact desktop chassis.
Dual ES9039Q2M DACs for Superior Audio
The DX5 II features two high-performance ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chips, one dedicated to each audio channel. This true dual-DAC architecture delivers significantly improved signal-to-noise ratio, dynamic range, and reduced distortion compared to its predecessor, enabling exceptional high-resolution audio playback with lower crosstalk and better imaging.
X-Hybrid Headphone Amplifier Circuit
The DX5 II introduces the next evolution of NFCA technology: the X-Hybrid amplifier circuit. Built around a brand-new triple-stage hybrid amplification design with a discrete input stage, op-amp gain stage, and discrete output stage, it retains the ultra-low distortion and high dynamic range of NFCA while improving efficiency and reducing power consumption and heat. Despite its compact form factor, it houses a fully balanced, quad-channel headphone amplifier.
Versatile Headphone Compatibility
With 6.35mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced, and 4-pin XLR outputs, the DX5 II accommodates everything from ultra-sensitive IEMs to high-impedance headphones. An ultra-low noise floor of just 1.8µVrms keeps even the most sensitive IEMs free of audible hiss, while up to 7600mW x 2 output power lets most headphones reach their full performance potential.
Headphone Crossfeed for a Natural Soundstage
A convolution-based crossfeed precisely simulates HRTF and room acoustics, dramatically improving imaging accuracy and spatial depth while greatly reducing the in-head localization and close-ear listening effect common to headphones. Through meticulous tonal calibration, it balances tonal accuracy with realistic spatial presence, and an enhanced BS2B-based simplified mode offers a relaxed, speaker-like presentation.
Aurora UI with Full-Color Display
Navigate settings effortlessly with the 2.0-inch full-color screen and three-button control layout. Choose from nine customizable background colors and switch display modes such as FFT, VU meter, or playback information. The pressable knob supports assignable functions, letting you switch output modes and tailor the listening experience with ease, with bilingual Chinese/English support.
10-Band High-Precision PEQ
The DX5 II debuts TOPPING’s new 10-band PEQ system, allowing precise tuning of frequency, gain, and bandwidth for each band. With the desktop software you can import target and raw curves, apply curve compensation, save multiple presets, and configure independent PEQ profiles for headphone and line-out outputs, so both headphones and speakers can be dialed in to the ideal state. (PEQ supports up to PCM 192kHz/32bit.)
Wireless Hi-Res Audio via Bluetooth
Powered by the QCC5125 chip, the DX5 II supports Bluetooth 5.1 with wireless audio up to 96kHz/24bit, fully supporting LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX, AAC, and SBC. High-quality audio can be transmitted wirelessly for a listening experience beyond CD level, ideal for TV, tablet, or streaming box connections.
Plug & Play with Broad OS Support
Compatible with Windows 10/11, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, the DX5 II features a third-generation XMOS XU316 USB interface with Thesycon drivers for stable, reliable operation. The USB input supports up to PCM 768kHz/32bit and native DSD512, capturing every detail of your digital library. Drivers are only required for Windows ASIO applications.
Self-Developed I/V Conversion Circuit
A custom-designed current-to-voltage conversion module is dedicated to superior audio reproduction. The exceptional circuit design delivers lower distortion and noise while occupying less space, extracting the maximum performance from the DAC chips.
Direct-to-Speaker Preamp Mode
Activate preamp mode to connect the DX5 II directly to a power amplifier or active speakers without a separate preamplifier, adjusting the output volume from the front panel or remote. Both input and output interfaces feature volume memory, automatically restoring your last volume setting when switching outputs.
12V Trigger for System Integration
The DX5 II includes 12V trigger input and output ports, allowing it to be triggered by other devices or to actively trigger compatible devices to power on and off synchronously for seamless system integration.
Rear Panel Connectivity
The rear panel provides balanced XLR and single-ended RCA line outputs, dual coaxial SPDIF inputs, optical input, USB input, and Bluetooth antenna connector, plus 12V trigger in/out, power input, and a power switch — flexible I/O for any desktop setup.
